Reports and Account Reviews for Electrical Distributors

Part 12 of 12 · October 18, 2026

Most electrical distributors have more data than they use. The ERP knows every line sold to every contractor and plant for years. Getting a clear answer out of it, like which accounts are growing, which are shrinking and what they buy elsewhere, usually means someone building a spreadsheet on a Friday afternoon.

The app puts the answers on a screen, for you and for your customers.

The exec dashboard

The exec dashboard shows sales, margin, cash, receivables and pace in one screen, on your phone. The company goal shows the month, year to date and where the year ends at this pace. Rep pace to goal shows each rep's month against their goal.

For an owner or GM, that is the morning check. Are we on pace this month? Is receivables getting worse? Did margin dip last week because of a big low-margin gear order, or is something wrong? You can see it before the first meeting of the day.

Top accounts up and down, and category gaps

Top accounts up and down shows the ten accounts buying more than last year and the ten buying less. In electrical, that list often tells a story. A contractor who landed a big project is up. A contractor whose builder slowed down is down. A plant that changed maintenance managers is down, and you may not have noticed.

Category gaps show the categories each customer buys from you and the ones they buy elsewhere. A few common electrical gaps:

  • Contractors who buy wire and conduit from you but their lighting from a lighting house.
  • Plants that buy motor controls from you but their lamps and fuses from a national catalog.
  • Institutions that buy devices from you but their tools and testers somewhere else.
  • Service contractors who buy breakers from you but connectors and terminations at a home center.

Every one of those is a growth plan for an account that already trusts you. Winning a new category from an existing customer is almost always easier than winning a new customer, because they already know your counter, your drivers and your terms.

Reports your customers see

Customers get their own reports in the app: spend, usage and category. A plant maintenance manager can see what they spent on lamps this year. A contractor's owner can see what the company spent and on what. That is the kind of report purchasing managers usually have to build themselves, and it makes their job easier, which makes you easier to keep.

Running a better account review

Put the pieces together and an account review practically writes itself. Before the meeting, pull up the customer: what they buy, what is up and down, what categories are missing, open invoices and any open quality issues. In the meeting, show them their own usage report and talk about the items that are running out too often, the orders that could go on AutoPilot and the categories you could take off their plate.

That is a very different meeting from "how are we doing?" It shows the customer you are paying attention, and it gives you a specific ask.

Every Monday, each rep also gets a review email with their own accounts, and the GM desk gets everyone. Nobody has to remember to look.

Book a demo and we will walk through it with your counter and inside sales team.
